Looking at a lot of rain and possibly snow coming in tomorrow, so we decided to make a quick run out for some good eats. Was surprised to see so much water in Kerckhoff Lake.

Well, our patience paid off, the track dried up very nicely with only a few standing water puddles that were easily avoided. Most riders had already fled leaving a small number of riders who were ready to ride. At first they opened to track up to all riders and we took off on our first lap. Unfortunately, due to a few riders not playing by the rules, we were split up into grounds that alternated every 30 minutes. As it turns out, were were able to get in three sessions which actually equated to more than half a day of track time if we were able to meet our planned intervals.
Turned out to be a great day after all. The morning rain provided some time with friends that I haven’t seen in a while and enjoy some great food that people had been cooking up at the track. Although the track season is coming to an end, I look forward to the coming year, and many more track days to come.

Well, after rain dumped down on us for most of the day, the sun started filling the sky around 2:00pm. We decided to start packing up everything else but the bikes to see if we would be able to salvage some track time before we bailed.

I needed to scrub in the new tires, so I took Ol’ Yeller out to some of its old stomping grounds. I can’t help but think, if it could smile, it would be from ear to ear. Can’t believe it’s been 17 years and 72,000+ miles since I brought it home. Many great adventures so far during our time together and hoping for many more to come.

June 8, 2009 Today I took my annual ride to remember my good friend. Decided this year to take a trip up to one of our favorite spots. As I sat up on the top of the world, with the bright sunny sky to my left, and the dark clouds spitting thunder and lightening to the right, I couldn’t help but wonder if Mike had something to do with the show as it was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Days like these are few and far between, we should all slow down from time to time and take in what nature has to offer. Thank you Mike… Message received!!!
